Today's DKos Elections Morning Digest cites a RollCall report on Rove's final Senate moneybomb dropping $10.5 Mill on 10 Senate races: IN,MT,ME,NB,ND,NM,NV,OH,VA,WI (Notably absent: MA,CT)
David Nir comments
surprisingly, Crossroads is still bothering with NM-Sen. Do they really believe Heather Wilson's polling showing the race a tie, in the face of implacable leads for Democrat Martin Heinrich for months? But in addition to NM, Nate Silver has ME,OH,VA all safe D - over 90% probability of D win (Ind. Angus King in ME is expected to caucus with D's), and in NB Nate gives Kerrey only a 13% chance. So only half the states Rove is moneybombing are competitive for Sen, though OH and VA are major battlegrounds for POTUS.
IMHO, those of us who can make final contributions should target close House races in states which are competitive for POTUS and/or Sen , so our small contributions do double and triple work. As our side continues to mobilize and run through the tape, I expect our leads for Pres and Sen to hold, so the House is CRITICAL. Otherwise, even victory will only get us more gridlock at a time of economic and ecological crisis.
The Speaker Pelosi Project ActBlue page includes OH-16 and WI-07, competitive for Pres and Sen, and FL-18 and NH-1 and 2, swing states for Pres.
Not on that list, but competitive according to Roll Call, are CO-03 and 06 (Miklosi), FL-02 and 10(Val Demings), NV 03 and 04, and OH-06.
I still remember a fundraising letter from John Kenneth Galbraith long ago concluding: GIVE TILL IT HURTS! Not sweepiong the election would hurt much more.
